Workshop Wrap Up: July 2018

For those of you who don't already know, here at Watergrasshill Bed & Breakfast we host a variety of workshops in our kitchen studio. These workshops range from cooking, to paint & sips and much, much more. When the house renovation plans were drawn up, the majority of the work was in the kitchen. We needed to create a multi-purpose space that would be able to accommodate 12 people in hands-on workshop, or 14 people in a demonstration style class. After many months of planning with Ultimate Homes and Apuzzo Kitchens, the kitchen of our dreams came to life!

We decided to hit the ground running in July and start our full schedule of workshops. Our first cooking class was a hands-on style, featuring a menu of Cocktail Party Appetizers. Students learned how to make 2 tasty summer cocktails and 4 delicious appetizers that were guaranteed to make them the "hostess with the most-ess" at their next party. We also hosted a kid's class centered around healthy snacks. We made blueberry oat muffins, kale chips, protein granola bars and smoothies! It was such a fun afternoon and the kids couldn't wait to share their culinary creations with their parents.

Next we hosted a Seafood Chef's Table. The Chef's Table is a demonstration style class, where the featured chef showcases his culinary techniques and talents, while creating a feast before student's eyes. The 5 course menu menu consisted of a warm shrimp salad with bacon balsamic vinaigrette, flounder tostada with salsa verde and heirloom tomatoes, pina colada sorbet, orange glazed salmon with charred leeks, medley of sautéed squash and parmesan herb smashed potatoes, and lastly a dark chocolate cake with caramel whipped cream, blueberry compote and tuile cookie. To say the least, no one went home hungry!

Our paint and sip instructor, Celia, hosted 2 successful paint parties. The first was a beautiful magnolia tree and the second was bright and cheerful sunflowers! Creativity filled the room and everyone's personality shined through their paintings.

Last but not least, Theresa, owner of Meadowscent florist hosted 2 back to back Wine & Floral Design workshops. This month featured a succulent garden. Theresa guided the students step-by-step through the process of creating the garden. They were educated on how to care for their plants and went home with a garden to brighten up their desk or table.

Our August schedule is full of new and exciting projects and menus. Our chef's table this month is a Farm-to-Table highlighting this season's bounty. This Saturday, August 4th, we have a Hands-on Backyard Grilling class, and at the end of the month we have a Picnic themed kids class. The Paint & Sips are Patriotic Sky and Love Birds and the Wine & Floral Design is a beautiful Summer Bouquet arranged in a container that you will learn how to upcycle!

Keep an eye out for our September schedule which will be posted by the end of the week! If you have a idea for a class, or are interested in scheduling your own class for a private party, feel free to reach out via email or give us a call at 845-419-2661.

I was faced with the task of choosing a VoIP provider for my business. After reading the information from the review https://www.mightycall.com/blog/best-voip-providers/, I was able to better understand what services are really necessary. The article explains that VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) allows voice calls to be transmitted over the Internet, which opens up new business opportunities. After comparing different providers, I learned about providers like MightyCall and RingCentral, which offer excellent value for money. Now I have a clear idea of how to choose the right service, taking into account key features and costs.
