About The Event
Halloween treats may be creepy and crawly but they are so tasty! Learn how to make 3 spooky Halloween treats that will be sure to impress your friends at the next Halloween party! Chef Melissa Walnock, a classically trained pastry chef from the CIA Apple Pie Bakery Café, will walk you through step-by-step how to make the following desserts:
- Craquelin Pate a Choux Spiders with a Chocolate Mousse Filling
- Ghost Marshmallow Pops
- Eyeball Truffles with Dark Chocolate Shell and Pumpkin Spice Ganache
Chef Walnock will teach you all the skills you will need to recreate these tasty and complex sweets at home. At the end of the class each baker will go home with a packet full of recipes and a box full of Halloween treats! This class is appropriate for adults and any children over the age of 11 accompanied by an adult.
Melissa Walnock is A Certified Hospitality Educator of baking and pastry arts at The Culinary Institute of America (CIA). Chef Walnock serves as pastry chef and instructor in the college’s Apple Pie Bakery Café. Before joining the CIA faculty, Chef Walnock worked at some of the finest restaurants in the United States including The French Laundry in Yountville, CA, Jean-Georges V Steakhouse, Union Square Café in New York City and The Breakers in Palm Beach, FL.
